The Shard

INNOVATE IN THE CONTINUITY OF TRADITION

It was the warm golden veins and the complex and luminous texture that made the Archistar Renzo Piano fall in love with Cremo Delicato. One of our most prestigious marbles that Renzo Piano Building Workshop got to know through Savema s.p.a., the company that accurately led and advised the architects of the project for the Shard, the tallest and most famous skyscraper in London, helping them in choosing the marble and in all its posing phases.

Cremo Delicato was in fact used to cover the interiors and exteriors of the lobby of the skyscraper, also embellished with an elegant counter made from a single block of marble. Elegance, tradition and design are the main expression of this ivory-colored marble, which every day tells its guests a small fragment of the history and beauty of Carrara and our quarries.

The News Building

CREMO DELICATO IN THE HEART OF LONDON

Adjacent to the tallest and most impressive skyscraper in London is The News Building, a second lobby of the Shard, also designed by the Archistar Renzo Piano. The protagonist is our Cremo Delicato, which through Savema s.p.a., was used to coat the walls of the atrium of this prestigious building. Charm and elegance echo within its walls, recalled by the warm veins of this splendid marble.

Alabama, 1999

Our Lady of the Angels Monastery

A SACRED PLACE FULL OF HISTORY

In the gentle hills of Hanceville, Alabama is the Monastery of Our Lady of the Angels, a sacred place steeped in history, including that of the devout Christian nun Mother Angelica who ordered the building of this lovely abbey.

To further enhance the beauty and solemnity of this place, we find one of our most precious marbles: Cremo Delicato. Used in the construction of the columns, part of the floors and the high altar, this refined ivory-colored marble is rich in golden veins, which give the interiors a soft and suggestive brightness.

In the church there is a chapel, entirely made in Cremo Delicato, which constitutes a private part of the church and is located in the basement.
